Features

A loop station for every song

Save projects as setlists with multiple songs, build as many loops as needed, and jump straight back to the phrases that deserve another pass.

Stems separation

Separate an audio track into stems so you can isolate the solo, remove vocals, or keep only the rhythm section to create the perfect backing track.

Speed and tempo control

Slow down fast ideas, rehearse them at the right pace, and bring the tempo back up when the phrase starts to feel playable. Adjust the pitch to match your voice.

Music notation (future feature)

Notation tools are planned for a future version, so the ideas you hear can eventually move from focused listening into notation-ready musical material.

Practice with a transcription workspace built for focused listening.

FAQ

What features are included?

Tone Transcribe includes: - Unlimited loop creation across songs - Stem separation - Speed and tempo control - Music notation planned for future versions

How well does Tone Transcribe separate tracks/stems?

Tone Transcribe can separate a song into stems so you can focus on the parts that matter most for practice. Rhythm sections usually come through especially well, which makes it useful for isolating grooves, practicing with bass and drums, or creating backing-track-style practice material. As with any stem separation tool, results depend on the quality of the recording, the mix, and how much the instruments overlap. Some instruments, especially piano, guitar, and saxophone, can be more challenging when they share similar frequency ranges or are buried in the mix. The goal is not always perfect studio isolation, but a clearer practice workspace that helps you hear, loop, and study the music more effectively.

Does Tone Transcribe run on Windows or Mac?

Tone Transcribe is a DESKTOP Mac app for Apple Silicon: M1, M2, M3, or M4. It does not currently run on older Intel Macs or Windows. If you would like Windows support in the future, join the mailing list and let us know.

Can music be slowed down without changing pitch?

Yes! Tone Transcribe is designed for focused listening at slower tempos, making fast lines, ornaments, rhythms, and articulations easier to hear.

How many loops can be created and saved?

Unlimited loops can be created for phrases, tricky bars, and longer sections! This makes it easy to return to important moments without rebuilding from scratch.

Is Tone Transcribe automatic transcription software?

Not yet. Tone Transcribe does not currently support automatic AI music transcription. We are actively working toward smarter transcription tools, but version 1 is focused on serious listening: loop-station practice, stem separation, tempo control, and annotation.

What kind of music is it for?

All instruments, all styles! Tone Transcribe is built for serious musicians, dedicated students, teachers, and curious hobbyists who want to understand recordings deeply by ear.

Will notation export be supported?

Music notation is not included in version 1, but it is planned for future versions. If notation export is important to your workflow, let us know so we can shape it around real musician needs.
